Support Your Favorite Cause With Support Magnets

Support magnets sound kind of funny, don’t they? You wonder exactly what they support. It sounds vaguely industrial, but support magnets simply refer to supporting a cause, a business, or a team. You can even get them to support political candidates.

The most familiar support magnets are probably the patriotic variety. Flags, yellow ribbons, and POW-MIA are some of the themes. Where I live, nearly every car has a yellow ribbon magnet or a flag, especially since the events of 9-11. Many of the local VFW’s had them for sale to raise funds. While a lot of us do not agree with the war, most of us support the troops who are fighting for our freedom.

These days I am seeing a lot of pink ribbons to support breast cancer research. Few of us don’t know someone who is fighting cancer. If buying a pink ribbon magnet raises money and awareness, most of us will buy one. You don’t realize how much money can be raised by selling such an inexpensive item until you see the number of people who have the ribbon magnets on their cars.

I grew up in a football town and everyone had bumper stickers to support the local team. The magnets are so much nicer. They are brightly colored; screen printed, come in a lot of shapes and sizes, and won’t wreck your paint job. Sports themed magnets are on cars everywhere for local as well as professional teams. While you’re supporting your school, get one for your honor roll student, cheerleader, or marching band member.

In addition to my yellow ribbon, I have a magnet to support spaying and neutering pets. I am an animal lover, worked in the veterinary profession for many years and am happy to support my local shelter’s endeavors to end overpopulation. I have seen firsthand how hard it is to place unwanted puppies and kittens. My husband won’t let me bring all of them home, so I do want to remind people to be responsible. If you’re a professional breeder, there are magnets for just about every breed of cat, dog, or horse.

There are magnets to support every cause you can think of. You don’t have to put them on your vehicle. They can be placed on the refrigerator, a filing cabinet, dishwasher or any metal surface you choose. If you cannot find a support magnet for your particular cause, they can be custom made. Fundraisers will find support magnets a cost effective way to raise money and get their message to the public.
